I hold a BSc in Philosophy (Universitat de Barcelona), Postgraduate studies in Philosophy and Business (Universitat de Barcelona), MBA (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and a MsC on Gender Studies coordinated by the Universitat de Barcelona. I have more than 15 years of experience in the research environment, especially in promoting, participating, and managing competitive funds. Since 2008, I serve at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) (Barcelona, Spain), a first-class research institution, where I set up the Pre-Award Office, responsible for securing and managing the competitive funding of the institute. I am familiar with research funding at both national and international level (H2020, NIH, among others). Since 2017 I am the Head of the Pre-Award Section. Furthermore, I serve on the “Equality and Diversity Committee” of IRB Barcelona, a body responsible for implementing the centre’s Equality Plan and for designing, implementing and following up measures to ensure that every member at the institute is treated fairly and properly regardless of his/her gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation. I am a member of the working group of the H2020 project CALIPER, that aims to facilitate the design, implementation, and evaluation of Gender Equality Plans. I am fluent in English; Spanish and Catalan are my mother tongues

Licenciada en Filosofía (Universitat de Barcelona), Postgrado en Filosofía y Empresa (Universitat de Barcelona) y MBA (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) y Máster en "Estudios de Mujeres, Género y Ciudadanía", coordinado por la Universidad de Barcelona. Tengo más de 15 años de experiencia en el entorno de la investigación y en la promoción, solicitud y gestión de fondos competitivos. Desde 2008 formo parte del IRB Barcelona (Barcelona, España), donde puse en marcha la oficna de Pre-Award, oficina encargada de los fondos competitivos del instituto. Estoy muy familiarizada con el entorno de financiación de la investigación, tanto a nivel nacional español como internacional (H2020, NIH y otros organismos internacionales). Desde 2017 soy la Jefa de la Sección de Pre-Award. Además, formo parte del Equality and Diversity Commitee del IRB Barcelona, responsable de diseñar e implementar el Plan de Igualdad y Diversidad del centro y de diseñar, implementar y hacer el seguimiento de medidas que aseguren que todos los miembros del IRB reciben igual trato, sea cual sea su género, raza, religión u orientación sexual. Soy miembro del equipo de trabajo del proyecto financiado por H2020 CALIPER, cuyo objetivo es el diseño, implementación y evaluación de Planes de Igualdad. Soy fluente en Inglés. El Español y el Catalán son mis lenguas maternas.

Skills and track record: 

In addition to bringing me great satisfaction (at the personal, social professional level), my participation in the Equality and Diversity Committee provides me with the opportunity to become familiar with the “Women in Science” and “Gender in Science” topics. From an academic approach, the Master on Gender Studies that did allowed me to acquire skills that complement my perspective and knowledge on the subject. My involvement in the CALIPER project provides me with expertise on the design, implementation, and evaluation of Gender Equality Plans and with a network of contacts.
