Clem Herman

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computing and Communications and Director of eSTEeM, the Centre for STEM Pedagogy at the Open University, UK. I have developed and led a range of projects to support the participation and progression of women in STEM, and my research on the impact of career breaks and women returners has been widely published. I am the Open University’s Athena SWAN Champion and chair of the STEM Gender Equality Group that oversees all Athena SWAN work across the university. I am also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Gender Science and Technology. My latest research, with Parvati Raghuram, is a comparative study of Gender IT and Migration in India and the UK.
