2018–2023 The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) - Second Action Plan on Disability and Inclusion reflects the University’s political commitment to safeguarding the rights of persons with disabilities and promoting their inclusion. Building on the First Action Plan for Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities at the UAB for 2011–2015 (I PAD), approved by the Governing Council at its meeting on 17 November 2010, it serves as an instrument for coordinating policies on disability support and inclusion within the university context. Beyond legal requirements, the Autonomous University of Barcelona recognises that safeguarding people’s rights requires political will, the mainstreaming of inclusive approaches across all areas of activity, and the involvement of the entire university community. Accordingly, this second plan seeks to go beyond the obligation established by the LOMLOU (Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April) to develop plans ensuring the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
