About you (please use English):
Dr. Deborah Rubin, Managing Partner of Cultural Practice, LLC, is a senior social development analyst, working at the intersection of agricultural development and gender integration. Rubin works with a range of groups leading the agricultural development agenda. Rubin is also well-known for her leadership on gender analysis and strategic gender thinking among major donors, providing technical assistance and developing training programs. In addition to supporting numerous USAID projects, she supports the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s gender portfolio activities, and works working closely with several of the CGIAR Centers. She has been a core team member of the Gates-funded IFPRI-led Gender, Agriculture, and Assets Project and in 2014 compiled a technical resource guide on gender and assets that will make the project's research findings applicable to implementors. She led a team to develop a methodology for integrating gender into agricultural value chains resulting in a coauthored handbook (2009) that has been widely distributed to USAID missions for guiding their work on gender and food security. She is interested in building a "science of gender for development" that could offer greater precision and rigor in qualitative gender analysis.
