The Austrian University Act (HschG) provides the overall legal framework for universities in Austria. It includes regulations regarding organizational structures, curricula, tuition fees, and institutional responsibilities. The University Act requires 40% of university staff and board members to be women. It also constitutes targeted recruitment, the implementation of gender monitoring and the establishment of a gender equality plan.
